Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints Week 6 Inactives: Antoine Winfield Jr In, Rachaad White Out

The Bucs see the returns of Calijah Kancey, Antoine Winfield Jr., and Luke Goedeke while Rachhad White, Graham Barton are out
Transcript

The Buccaneers seemed to be trending in the right direction in terms of injuries - until they weren’t. While the Bucs will see the return of Luke Goedeke and the 2024 debut of Calijah Kancey they will now be without rookie center Graham Barton, receivers Kameron Johnson and Trey Palmer, and defensive back Christian Izien. As a result of Palmer and Johnson being out, the Buccaneers elevated wide receiver Ryan Miller from the practice squad.

Antoine Winfield Jr. was back at practice this week in a limited capacity and was considered a game time decision but he will play in this one. The safety duo of Winfield Jr. and Whitehead will finally be back on the field with one another for the first time since week one, although both are still dealing with their injuries after Whitehead suffered a groin injury in last week's loss to the Falcons.

The other game time decision, Rachaad White, practiced on Wednesday before being downgraded to DNP on Thursday and Friday with a foot injury and he will not play. Running back D.J. Williams was elevated from the practice squad to give the Bucs some depth but this will be a breakout opportunity for rookie Bucky Irving who will get the vast majority of the snaps on Sunday.

The Saints are dealing with their own injury issues, losing starting guard Cesar Ruiz, safety Will Harris, linebacker Pete Werner, tight end/running back/quarterback Taysom Hill, and of course quarterback Derek Carr who will be replaced by rookie Spencer Rattler. Starting center Lucas Patrick didn’t practice all week and was a game time decision and has been ruled out. The Saints will have to roll with two backup offensive linemen going against a fully healthy Bucs defensive line.
