Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans has been nominated as the team’s choice as the 2024 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. The award is given to honor the player’s who are committed to creating an impact off-the-field, and in their communities.
Evans and his wife, Ashli, are founders and co-owners of the Mike Evans Family Foundation. They established the organization in 2017, with an aim to empower youth, encourage education and take a stand against domestic violence.
Through their foundation, Mike and Ashli are able to host various events throughout the year to raise funds for families in need, during times like “back-to-school” and the holidays. The Evans Family even hosts a yearly “Catch for Christmas” event, where he’ll bring gifts, signed Bucs’ gear and a great experience to young kids in the Tampa Bay area.
The Mike Evans Family Foundation even reaches back to Mike’s hometown of Galveston, Texas, where the foundation hosts football camps, yearly Thanksgiving Luncheon’s and has even awarded scholarships to local athletes.
Although we are all aware of the greatness that Mike Evans holds on the field, there’s no surprise that this is his fourth time to be nominated for this award. His consistency also goes beyond the football field- hosting yearly events for families and students who need it, not only in the Tampa Bay area, but in his hometown of Galveston as well.
