Baker Mayfield: Looking to give hope on Sunday

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield addressed what the Week 6 game could mean for Tampa Bay
Transcript

As Hurricane Milton rapidly approached Florida, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were busy getting the team, their families, and pets ready to leave early for New Orleans on Tuesday morning.

Despite the change of scenery, Wednesday was seemingly routine for the Buccaneers as they held meetings and practiced at Tulane’s Yulman Stadium in New Orleans. Shortly after, Coach Bowles and several players were scheduled for virtual interviews over Zoom.

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield addressed what the Week 6 game could mean for the team knowing that as they play against the Saints on Sunday, Tampa Bay will be dealing with the aftermath of Milton.

"This thing is coming for Florida -- it's safety first and getting everybody out. Hopefully everybody listened to the mandatory evacuations. [I'm] compartmentalizing one step at a time the preparation part when it comes to the storm. Then, once we're out there, realizing this could be sort of Sunday to give the people of Florida, especially around our area, some hope and something to look forward to watching."

As the Buccaneers go into the Caesars Superdome this Sunday to play the Saints, they are making it known that this game means way more than just football.

They’re playing for something bigger. They’re playing for Tampa Bay.

They’re playing for the Krewe.
