JC Cornell shares his thoughts after a historic Bucs win
Transcript

Tampa Bay was hammered by Hurricane Milton. Bucs players and their family’s were evacuated to New Orleans to focus on the upcoming game against the Saints and to stay out of the wrath of the storm.

The Buccaneers lead by Baker Mayfield delivered the entire fanbase a major boost in morale by absolutely demoralizing the Saints in New Orleans. The Bucs/Saints rivalry is by far the chippiest rivalry in the NFC South. These guys don’t like each other.

Baker Mayfield, the face of the Bucs, delivered another MVP caliber performance. Despite throwing three INT’s, two coming off batted balls, Baker still threw for over 300 yards and 4 Touchdown passes. Baker leads the NFL with 15 passing TD’s and 17 total TD’s.

The biggest eye popping stat of this massacre in New Orleans was the performance of Sean Tucker and Bucky Irving. Sean Tucker ran for 136 yards and a TD, averaging 9.7 yards a carry. Tucker also had 56 receiving yards and a touchdown. Bucky Irving had 81 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. This might be the future of the backfield for the Buccaneers.

Antoine Winfield Jr. returned to the lineup after his injury and immediately created a massive presence physically and recovering a fumble for a touchdown in the first quarter. Many draft experts compared Bucs slot CB, Tykee Smith, to Winfield. Tykee had the best game of his young career for the Bucs. Smith created two major turnovers for the Bucs defense. A forced fumble and a clutch interception. The sky is the limit for Tykee Smith.

The Buccaneers dropping a 50 burger in New Orleans is a historic milestone. New Orleans has had the Buccaneers number for a majority of the last decade. Saints players like Cam Jordan have consistently talked down on the Buccaneers franchise.

Those days are over.
