Buccaneers Rumor Update

JC Cornell Gives An Update On Potential In-Season Tampa Bay Roster Moves
Transcript

There has been a lot of talk in Buccaneers social media about a potential move to trade for Haason Reddick. Reddick currently is holding out from the Jets after being traded to New York by the Eagles. Reddick is 30 years old and wants financial security.

Haason has four straight seasons of double digit sacks and is rumored to be looking for $20M per year on a new deal. The Jets are on the brink of giving up and may look to deal Reddick.

Tampa Bay currently has Yaya Diaby, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, Chris Braswell and Anthony Nelson at EDGE.

From people I have spoken to the Buccaneers will NOT trade for Redick and are content with the current EDGE rushers on the roster. My personal opinion is they are saving this cash for an extension with Chris Godwin.

Another rumor that caught steam from being on Charlotte radio and talk shows was Carolina possibly trading for Kyle Trask. Trask played with Canales last season and knows the system in Carolina. Trask is on the last year of his rookie deal.

Trask is too valuable as a backup to Mayfield. The Bucs would not entertain a trade offer for him unless they were absolutely “blown away” by an offer.

Trask is here to stay for his final year. The ultimate question is what will happen with Trask after the season. Does he chase an opportunity or stay content as Baker Mayfield’s backup?
