While the Buccaneers and Ravens don’t have an extensive history, what little history they have favors the Ravens - and by a large margin.
The Bucs and Ravens faced off for the first time in 2001 in Tampa where the Bucs won 22-10 then took the field against one another in 2002 where the Bucs won 25-0, highlighted by a Derrick Brooks 97-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Since then, it’s been all Ravens. Five straight wins spanning 2006-2022 with the Ravens winning by an average of 15.6 points per game, including a 27-0 and a 48-17 victory, extending their overall record to 5-2 against Tampa Bay.
In their last meeting, the Ravens came into Raymond James Stadium and left with a 27-22 victory. Unfortunately, the Bucs left without Shaq Barrett who tore his achilles during the game. After leading 10-3 at halftime, the Bucs fell behind allowing the Ravens to score two touchdowns in the third quarter then getting out to a 24-13 lead early in the fourth quarter.
Lamar has faced the Bucs twice, once in his rookie season and once in 2022. He has 369 passing yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions while adding another 138 yards on the ground. He has just one turnover against them - a fumble - and has been sacked five times on 61 pass attempts. That’s the most sacks any NFC team has against him in his career.
This will be the tenth time Baker Mayfield has faced Baltimore, but the first as a member of the Bucs. He’s been on the winning side three times in the first nine meetings and is looking to give Baltimore just their second loss to an NFC team in the Lamar era. With Jackson under center, the Ravens are 22-1 against NFC opponents.
The Ravens are 3-1 in Tampa with wins in 2006, 2014, and 2022 while the Bucs are looking to move to 3-1 at home and 5-2 on the season.
