Welcome back to Fully Loaded, this is your host J.C. Cornell alongside Samer Ali, as always remember folks, Fully Loaded is now part of the 813 Network, you can find us at the 813 TV on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, just subscribe, give us some likes, we want to bring you guys the best Buccaneers content possible. Samer, we just whooped the Commanders in Game One. How are you feeling? Feeling... feel great, I mean, I feel great but I also don't feel great at the same time because there's a lot of stuff going on after the game but in terms of the way they performed, yeah, one and oh always feels way better than oh and one especially when it's a team you have To beat that, you should beat and you end up beating well Samer Baker Mayfield made a statement like we called for last week we wanted a statement game from Baker.

He comes out 24 for 32, 89, four touchdowns uh basically ranked the number one quarterback in Week One in the NFL, that was the state and we wanted it's great to see it from Baker who we know has it in him and I said maybe this season we'll see that Oklahoma Baker that swag he brings the confidence he brings to the game and we sure saw it yeah you saw him after that touchdown pass running down the sidelines this is my city and then he does this, he does the first down thing going. Like you could just see his swagger oozing off of him, but not only him, it's like carried over to the rest of the guys.

You could feel the camaraderie of the offensive side of the ball; you could feel they're they're just they're closely bonded and they're out there having fun, and they're expecting what they're seeing which means they've been prepared. And that kind of speaks to what Todd's able to do, what Laim's able to do, but man, Baker could have had a 300-yard plus day and probably five or six touchdowns if he wasn't so jacked up at the beginning of the game. I think he has a McMillan could have had a three-touchdown day, so um to See him come out there, perform, throw that confidence and do it efficiently, I mean six incompletions throwing over 25 times a game, they didn't really run the ball 25 times on top of that, so it was very efficient, very effective, and they just executed every single time they needed to.

They only punted one time, JC, so that tells you enough about what you need to know about the quarterback position in that game, yeah. And then Mike Evans has two touchdowns, Chris Godwin has a touchdown, McMillan has a touchdown - those are all the guys, so that's exciting. But like, let's move on to Liam Cohen here who is a like fresh breath of air on offense. Canal's last year worst rushing attack in the NFL I mentioned that on my My Solo Two Minute Monday Thoughts video, but Liam Cohen just brings so much to this offense, so much movement, eye candy, it's so different. We are basically running the Rams' offense and it's just fun; it's fun as a bucs fan going through so many terrible offenses where the defense has carried us in this, and now it just seems like our offense is going to be the one that people are worried about.

Yeah, I think the the the thing to look at was that they, like I said just a little bit ago, they didn't run 25 times a game right, but they ran effectively; Buck's had nine. carries i think rashad had maybe 16 carries that's you know that's right at that you know that that 25 i guess i did run 25 times they didn't run 35 times is more they didn't sit there and just lean on the run game and then the other thing i noticed is that we were up what it was a 30 to like 14 with three minutes left in the game and we were throwing the ball into the end zone and

to all those people out there that said todd bowles is the problem with the offense it's todd bowles it's todd bowles he's the one making byron do this he's the one making dave do this liam comes into town and we're throwing the ball we're up 30 to 14 in the red Zone, we're throwing into the end zone that tells me that it's not Todd Bowles that it's just been he's letting these guys do what they they do best but Liam understands that he's not going to be that you could run effectively without having to run it 35 times a game and you could run effectively if you know when to pick and choose your spots and again he had these guys prepared they knew how to execute, how awesome was it JC to see Chris Godwin being the guy that they go to on third down every single time, third in Godwin's cup roll that for the Rams exactly and you know what I was running around effectively, go ahead.

Go ahead, Sammer, I predicted the bucs to win by 20 plus in this game. I had a lot of backlash on Twitter, people on X whatever you want to call it, people like there's no chance Commanders are a solid team, Jayden Daniels blah blah blah blah blah blah blah no but we we we didn't win by 20 plus but we we gave up a garbage time touchdown, I'm gonna take that as a W for myself on the prediction effectively we won by 20 though right, a garbage time touchdown there doesn't count for anything, we were up 20 so it was a 20 point win in my mind, man. It was again it was just they were

people say don't run the ball against you know the the Commanders because that's their strength their secondaries their weakness well we were able to exploit both in my opinion we were able to run the ball because we we threw the ball effectively and that's kind of what you see from good offenses that they figure out ways to take advantage of what they do well regardless of what you do well but also take advantage of what you don't do well and so for them to do that again only punt the ball one time 9 of 13 on third down that is that is good ball that is good ball man and they could 50 if they were really really clicking in that first quarter so again speaks volumes to liam's being able to scout and have A game plan in place and get these guys to execute, and I think he called a beautiful game.

A lot of screen passes, and I want to talk about Bucky Irving and Rashad White, obviously leading the way in the rushing attack. Bucky was a little more effective on the ground, but Rashad had some great, great screen pass runs for chunks of yards. I think he two yards rushing, and then we had the Raymond James Stadium chanting Bucky's name, which has got to be fun for a rookie, uh, clearly already a fan favorite in this offense. That's exactly what you want to see from these running backs, and Graham Barton just had a monster blocking. Game so kudos, Jason Light once again, just nailing nailing these draft picks for this offense to really succeed under Liam Cohen. I mean, if you think about it, we're going to talk about the draft picks for a quick second.

You had Bucky Irving and Rashad White, and out there making an impact. You had Jalen McMillan making an impact. You had Graham Barton making an impact. You had Chris Braswell making an impact. And you had Tykee Smith out there making tackles, making an impact - that's ridiculous! Five guys I just listed off, game one, okay? They've never played in the NFL to come out there and be prepared the way they were. Yeah, sure. Graham Barton, he had some ups and downs. He's probably got to do a little bit better and grow a little bit more on the interior in terms of the pass blocking. But so do the guys next to him, and more or less, you know that chemistry that has to develop. But in terms of the run game, he was awesome.

He was on a guy Hall of Famer and Bobby Wagner, taking him completely out of the play. I mean that is ridiculous. But now going back to your point about Bucky, I think they mixed them up really really well. Bucky benefited from those two really big runs he had, and he had beautiful blocking on them, and Rashad had a couple where he was tackled in. The backfield as well, so there's a little bit of luck of the draw there, but they mixed them in really well; you weren't able to tell what the wasn't predictable, and I don't know if you noticed JC because we were at the game it's hard to notice sometimes when you're you know in the stands.

But they had Bucky and Rashad in the game a lot together as a group, and they weren't even touching the ball sometimes, so you know they're setting something up at some point. He had Bucky and Rashad both playing wide receiver at different times, switching in and out of the backfield; it was creative, and then just the use of JC and Bucky shows. That lightning dude, there's some lightning in there when they put him on the field and they give him the ball. It was, it was fun to see just has that burst right when he gets handed the ball, he's explosive. Yeah, it just explodes. Where Rashad White has more of that Le'Veon Bell style where he he's patient and looks for the hole. Buckyard just bounces but they're both effective in their own right.

But they're both very effective where he hits hits the hole too. But yeah, I get what you're saying. He's just like a he's like a powder keg that explodes once the ball hits his belly. He's just it's ridiculous man. It's a great season them going back. and forth with the carries um there is some unfortunate stuff that happened in the game lots of injuries zion mccollum gets a concussion uh bryce hall gruesome leg injury probably out for the year so right now we either are gonna go what's his name thunder bunk like thunder bunk definitely coming up and then uh and maybe maybe they'll go back to keenan isaac as well right so isaac was cut by the panthers uh dave canal started sneaky grabbing him from us doesn't

matter whatever the panthers do they're awful oh god but yeah we're gonna have to figure out this outside corner position especially against the lions who have A multiple, multiple, multiple guys that are very dangerous, I'm in the off-season, Brown could be a problem um, but we're not going to get to the lightening, lions sorry, guys lions right now um, we just gotta talk about the secondary position see I am told bucs media is saying we are not going to go after Patrick but Sammers for a guy that's 34 years old that probably still has a little left in the tank. I know we had the Richard Sherman experiment that was failed horribly but Hitterson can still play and he knows the scheme, I don't think it would hurt to at least give him a phone call so look, I would tend to agree with you, but I have to Disagree only in the sense that outside of the Richard Sherman scenario, which was because of Tom Brady by the way, because he's with Tom.

The bucs have just leaned on going younger. Todd has no fear of playing these younger guys; he almost prefers to play the younger guys because I think it allows him to not have to change his defense as much to account for lack of athleticism from an older vet, you know. But again, when Richard Sherman came in here and Rock said this on The Loose Cannons last night, he knowing as much as he knows about NFL defenses and being as smart as he is when he was here with Todd Bulls; he said he was swimming. And he had no idea what was happening for a good week and a half, two weeks so Patrick Peterson even though he was in the system I think the age factor plays into it and I think just maybe being able to get an athletic guy out there and just go that route, that's what they've gone with now.

If there's not a lot of stuff to pick from on the outside looking in, and you got Keenan Isaac that you could possibly bring back he was cut for a reason didn't make the team for a reason so you have to think about that too. Funderberg is definitely going to get called up who knows if Zion's back if Zion's not back I wouldn't be surprised if they reached. Out to Patrick Peterson, I just wouldn't bet that that's going to happen, but I think it's going to be a move again because they just seem to go to the younger guys instead, because I think they lean on the athletic side as opposed to the you know, I think they'd have to go more soft zone and I don't know how that's going to play out unless they have Kalijah Cancey back who improves the defensive line's rush almost immediately.

So I, I disagree but I also agree a little bit if that makes sense. Well, I mean, I don't think Zion McCollum is going to be out that long with a concussion, so all I'm saying is that the death and the presence the veteran Presence he would bring would be helpful, but listen Jason Light knows what he's going to do. They they're one of the they've been in the playoffs for four straight years. I'm not nervous about anything, we're good; I just want to be able to go. I want to be able to give the Lions a hell of a ball game, you know what I mean? Here's the thing JC, so, so if say Zion doesn't come back in the game itself, they played Izzy net that outside corner spot who he hasn't done it since high school; is that ideal?

No, but if Zion's not back and Antoine Winfield doesn't have the injury that we heard about yesterday out of nowhere, then I think Izzy might be that. Guy, right? And then they just continue with Jordan Whitehead and Antoine. Back there, they play a little bit softer, they're not you know as involved in at the line of scrimmage blitzing things of that nature. But the Antoine Winfield news comes out, he's going to be out for a couple weeks maybe three weeks, we don't really know exactly, we're probably going to get an update on Wednesday but he's out, and now Izzy has to go back there and play that spot so now now you have nobody playing corner, you have Tykee Smith, I don't think you're going to move him from nickel, he's a rookie, you don't want him to be drinking from a fire hose but You can't just bring up one guy, you don't have any practice squad corners at this point, you have safeties.

Where's Merryweather? I don't know how what what happened to him after he got hurt in preseason, is he the guy that could slide back there and then maybe Izzy is like a backup corner at the same time, they've got to figure something out, and so you inevitably have to bring somebody in from outside the building right, and that's where I say maybe Patrick Peterson is the best bet at that point because at least he knows it and he can kind of just jump in. But is he going to be in game shape? Can he play after a few days of practice if you? Think about it, they work out guys on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, they figure out that decision on Thursdays, he's going to get a Thursday practice, a Friday walkthrough, and then he's ready to go on Sunday.

After sitting the entire offseason, I don't know, man that's tough. Patrick Peterson, I know, I'm a huge fan, don't get me wrong, like massive, but that is a tough ask dude for any athlete, honestly, not let alone we're also talking about one of the most athletic dominant cornerbacks in NFL history and Patrick Peterson. But no, I get it, but we could ask we could ask him J.C., and he's gonna say easily, 'No.' Gotta get ready if you stay ready. Right, and that's what he's, that's what he's gonna say inevitably, so I don't know, man. They've got to figure it out. You can't go out there; they'll have a plan like you said, they're gonna have a plan that you just gotta trust them, and I wouldn't mind a shootout, man.

How about Baker and the boys carry this team for a couple of weeks? I'm okay with that fantasy-wise, I'd love to see them play, but I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't love it. I mean the offense is built to carry this team anyway. But let's talk a little NFC South, Sammer so the crowned kings of the NFC South, the Atlanta Falcons just absolutely looked like dog shit. And it's just funny, you know. The Buccaneers were used to it. We don't get any love from the national media. We get Chris Sims predicting us to miss the playoffs. Um, Kirk Cousins is the new Tom Brady? Now where we should be terrified, dude. They looked awful. bucs clear, you listen. All the Saints looks okay. They looked pretty good.

They got a victory, but the bucs are the best team in the NFC South. The bucs are going to win the NFC South. We've known this. It's just it's it's it is what it is. We have the chip on our shoulder, but at some point people are gotta they gotta realize that we're the real deal. We're a contender in this league. So, in terms. Of the Saints, okay, one they played a preseason they played a fourth preseason game, they played Louisiana State Tech basically, okay, like Florida would in Week One in college football that didn't count for shit; there's an asterisk next to that one. To know I have it, Buck's want to know, Carolina Panthers own one, Atlanta Falcons own one, Saints want to know - that's how it fits; we are first place in the NFC South right now, okay!

Now back to the Falcons themselves, dude, I, I never understood the entire offseason, how everybody just decided that Kirk Cousins was all gonna all of a sudden just gonna stop being Kirk Cousins once his zip Code changed on his address like he's always been Kirk Cousins, now he's Kirk Cousins, afraid to plant his right foot in the ground, now he's Kirk Cousins throwing off a one-footed guy looked absolutely terrified out there, on top of the fact that he looked like he didn't he wasn't physically ready so Penix could be the guy sooner rather than later, okay and then you know it just it is what it is I'm glad that a guy like Rich Eisen came on his show yesterday and apologized to bucs fans, you see that I didn't see it no he apologized.

Apologize to us. I need to see this clip immediately. Can you add that clip to this show? I'll add it. We need to see it. Yeah, I'll add it. Add that clip to the show so these listeners of ours can see the apology that we deserve as Buccaneers fans. But on the other hand, and again, I know the Commanders might be the Commanders, but the Bucs looked superb. They looked superior. They looked like the superior team in this division. We need to see the Saints against an opponent that's not Carolina to make this decision. But me right now, sitting on the Falcons winning this division and not the Bucs, I might have spoken too soon. I know this is just week one, but you look at Atlanta's next two games, they're at Philadelphia.

Kirk does not perform well under the lights on Monday night in Philadelphia historically. And then they got Kansas City. Before they got home dates against New Orleans and Tampa, the two teams that did. They did look terrific. They got to come up with some dubs and some tough games. While Tampa, as I pointed out, they're at Detroit, but as I pointed out in the beginning of the season, I kind of like their schedule. They're home against Denver and Philadelphia, which is not easy. They're at Atlanta, at New Orleans, home for Baltimore. They're at KC, San Francisco. Those are the tough parts. The end of the season, it's not that difficult. The team - there's not a lot of outdoor games. They finish up with two at home.

They got three out of four at home to start. Might have spoken too soon. Baker, my boy. Looked great. Number one fantasy quarterback yesterday. Did you see him screaming 'this is my city'? Mike Evans, two touchdowns. He played like he was seeking your approval last night. Chris Godwin, one of the team that catches end yards. Rashad White. Bucky Irving looked good. Yes, I know. It was all good. It was all good. It was all good. It was all good. But defensively, they were all over. Yeah. You know, I know Jaden Daniels was just running for his life a lot and just running. He apologized. You don't doubt us. And then with Kirk Cousins, you know, going to the Falcons and they think he's the savior, yet they draft Michael Penix.

You know, this is what I was thinking about why they possibly signed Kirk Cousins. You know, Atlanta is a very hip place. You know, they like their chains. You know, Migos, the rappers are from Atlanta. So they saw Kirk on the plane that one time wearing all those chains. They're like, that's it. That's our guy. That's the guy we need in the ATL. That's Kirk Cousins. He will bring us a Super Bowl. Look at all those chains he rocks. That's the guy for us. The problem is that B. John Robinson is not what everyone thought he was going to be yet. I mean, will he be? I don't know. Right now, he's not. That's all that matters. Okay. So Kirk Cousins, one, doesn't have a run game at that point.

Doesn't have this all-star running back. Kyle Pitts. All right. He's not going to be garbage. He's not the next tight end. Great. Okay. I'm sorry. It's not happening. It hasn't happened yet. Doesn't look like it's ever going to happen. So now, all of a sudden, you're down two massive, you know, selling points. Everyone was telling me about Atlanta Falcons, right? Drake London. And I don't even know who the other wide receiver is. I mean, what are we talking about here? These guys have yet to prove anything. So when you sign a Tom Brady and you bring him to a Chris Godwin and a Mike Evans, right? That's a different ball game. And then you bring in a Gronk. You've got stars. They're bringing in Kirk Cousins.

One, they're adding him to what they think are going to be stars like they made a Super Bowl window move. JC without a Super Bowl window team doesn't make sense. And they expected greatness right off the bat. I'll play Penny week two and just roll with it. Let him develop and grow with the other young guys you have. What's the point of bringing an aging vet with a bunch of youngsters that still have to grow together? He said they've got to talk about one more. We got to talk about one more team. The Carolina Panthers. Samer, are the Panthers going to win a game under Dave Canales this year? And is Dave Canales on the hot seat? Ah, man, if it's in Carolina, yeah, you're always on the hot seat with that with that guy, that general, that owner.

Listen, if they're 0 and 5, I would not be shocked. He's like, I'm already paying two other guys anyway. Who cares at this point? I would not be shocked if they go 0-5. One, I would definitely not be shocked, but I would be shocked if he got fired at 0-5. Honestly, they look terrible. They had eight passing yards in the first half on like six attempts. Dave Canales apparently was the reason Baker Mayfield was playing well to begin with. So, I'm not sure how Baker did. Well, he did this past Sunday and Dave Canales didn't have Bryce doing any of that. So, I'm a little confused about the narrative surrounding the whole thing. So, you imagine being Dave Canales and being like, oh, the Panthers are they want to interview me as their head coach.

Let's see what I got here. Oh, I got Bryce Young. He's five foot four. Let's do it. My thing is, like, I get it. He goes from making like nine hundred thousand dollars or eight hundred thousand dollars, whatever he was making with the Bucs as an O.C. He's making millions now. So him and his. His family, they're set. Right. But. You're probably never going to get another chance at the NFL head coaching position once you lose this job. Right. So it's like it's kind of he just did it for the money at that point. Right. There's no way he looked at that and said, yeah, I'm going to fix that. Maybe he's overconfident after what Baker did, because I remember people people were saying it was him building up.

It looked like Baker at this point was making Dave look better. Right. And I've been saying that. I've been saying that even when Baker had bad games, he was making making Dave look better. So. I mean. I'm glad to see it happen. Honestly, I'm glad. I mean, insert insert land cone to the offensive coordinator of the Bucs. Now, Baker, like like we said, twenty four, thirty two eighty nine, four touchdowns. So efficient is Liam Cohen going to put Baker consistently in the MVP conversation. I mean, if he continues to have efficient games like that, remember when Tom Brady lost the MVP to Aaron Rodgers, that's like very similar to the reason why Aaron Rodgers won the MVP, his efficiency and the offense. We'll see what happens. He threw for 80 percent on Sunday, too.

That's insane. That is so that's just like a stupid. That's NCAA numbers after I'm done playing against Nebraska or whatever. My, you know, ridiculously talented Sam Houston State squad. OK, but like think about how efficient they were on third down. I know we already talked about this, but like it was third down. It was always Chris Godwin running a perfect route exactly where he had to be beyond the sticks or it was Trey Palmer in the right spot at the right time. But more often than not, if you I don't know if you noticed it, it was the first read was open. The first read was open and not and that's not on accident for those people who want to just say, oh, you know, it's the it's it's it's scheme to be open.

The first route is designed to get open. And if it doesn't, then you go to the second, the third read, whatever. So if it consistently hits the first one, that means one, you've got skilled players running it. OK, so you gotta give them the benefit of the doubt there. But two, they've schemed and come up with a game plan that effectively attacks the team that they're facing. Which we never saw last year. We never saw. We just ran our bullshit offense. Sorry, I know it's fully loaded. We just ran our garbage offense the entire time and forced it down the throat of our own fan base. So it was refreshing to see Liam do McVay type things, Shanahan type things, you know, guys that know what they're doing in the offensive world and the NFL.

Mike Evans' first touchdown from our section where we sit. It was the most obvious Mike Evans. He was one on one. The safeties were on basically the other side of the field. I'm like, wait, I'm like, this is a touchdown, touchdown. And then you saw McMillan a couple of times lined up like Mike was with that one, those one-on-ones. And he's going to win those two. We'll see that, you know, with that drop he had. But he's going to win on those as well. And then, I mean, it's just it was fun. It was fun to watch. Go back to that. That that touchdown. I'm like, OK. And so what's funny is yesterday Rashad calls me. He's congratulating us about the 8-1/3. And he's, you know, and I go, dude.

I don't know if you noticed it, but I didn't notice it the game. But that play where Mike scored a touchdown. He goes, yeah, I know, bro. I would have walked in. And I was getting to the point that so they had already set up a screen on the right side. They had three wide receivers there. Exactly. Yeah. No. Well, so if Liam is playing 3D chess, dude, listen to this. So he's got four bodies out there and then he's got Mike by himself. It's like that safety doesn't have a choice. You have to give him the one on one. And if you go the other way, it's it's unfair. It's it's four on two at that point. Right.

So the corners and the safeties had to go to the left side or the right side of the of the formation because Rashad was right back there in a bunch formation with the tight end and two wide receivers. And that was the throw. They had set it up and they had numbers even with Mike Evans on his own. And so the read is if Mike's on his own and he's like, 'if Mike's on his own, he's throwing it there.' And if Mike's not on single, he's thrown it to me. And they go back and look at the play, dude. It's unreal. They had two touchdowns on the same play. It was crazy. And it's like, Liam, that's Liam Cohen, dude. That's Liam Cohen. It's just beautiful. It's like a man.

It was. It was. I got so hyped seeing that replay. JC, you got to go back and look, dude. It's it's so they would have walked in. Rashad would have walked in and it was it was awesome to see that. That's that's that's going to set something up later on, dude. Imagine having. I have a question for you. So. Rashad had that huge screenplay that got brought back by the Graham Barton penalty, like man downfield, illegal man downfield. And then suddenly. This new. Is this a new thing now? Do we have AI refereeing the games? I it's replay assistance. I'm assuming it's the guys in New York that are watching all the games and saying, hey, you guys are wrong. I think it's embarrassing for the refs when they get called down.

Hey, shit. I got a damn it. That's another one. That's on me. That's on me. I don't think they want that. I don't think they want to go into a game and leave the game without any replay. They had to replay assistance in that game, dude. They should just like find them for each one. So it's like an even more embarrassing look. But dude, isn't that awesome? Because he was clearly not. Down the field, right? Oh, yeah. And they fixed the play. They didn't. You could barely hear it because our stadium has absolutely terrible, terrible sound system for some reason. But first the play goes, then it comes back. And all of a sudden they're like walking it back up. And I'm like, what exactly happened here? And yeah, maybe it's AI.

I think it's New York. Maybe there's AI in New York. But yeah, dude, to see that get overturned. It happened a couple of times in the game. I can't remember what the other one was. I think. Oh, the other one was they give a first down to Jane Daniels on a run and he was actually short by a yard. So they called it back and said, oh, it's second and one. And they said, replay assistance after that first one. I just yelled replay assistance on every single play that they went throwing a flag on. I don't know if you could hear me. I got pretty heated after. What was it? The Antoine Winfield or the Jordan Whitehead penalty where they said he hit him with his helmet. Bull crap. Whatever.

Bull crap. Whatever.
