A huge game in this Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ season is upon us, as the San Francisco 49ers come into Tampa Bay, with the visitors ready to do all they can to avoid falling below .500. Hopes were high for both of these NFC powerhouses to begin the season, but both teams sit at around even records and need a positive sign entering week ten.
San Francisco welcomes back their star running back, Christian McCaffrey, as Tampa Bay’s defensive struggles continue. Will Antoine Winfield Jr., Lavonte David and the Bucs defense turn their fortunes around?
Check out what the staff at The 813 believes will happen in this huge week ten game:

Buccaneers have shown how weak they are against opposing TE’s. George Kittle is one of the best in the league and will expose Todd Bowles’ defense. Christian McCaffrey makes his season debut and ultimately his catches out of the back field and pure speed will be too much to handle. Liam Coen’s offense continues to shine but doesn’t matter in the end.

In a matchup that has most fans and analysts leaning towards San Francisco, the Buccaneers are actually positioned for an upset—if they can execute a disciplined, pressure-heavy game. Yeah, I know, probably the biggest "IF" in the history of Tampa Bay sports. Despite their recent struggles, Tampa Bay's defense has shown potential and flashes, especially along the interior of the defensive line, albeit in very very tiny glimpses. The 49ers offense has been sneakily efficient, but still have a penchant for red-zone misfires, converting just 48.6% of their drives into touchdowns, which COULD bode well for the Bucs IF (there's that damn word again) they can maintain some level of consistency on defense. Yes, Christian McCaffrey is back, but more than likely on a snap-count, and Deebo Samuel can still do Deebo Samuel things, but the major key (more like a question) for the Bucs will be finding a way to contain TE George Kittle, who’s projected to have a big game, as basically any TE facing this Buccaneers defense lately.
With Baker Mayfield back from the interception warehouse (empty handed finally) and his new-found chemistry with target Cade Otton (the guy has rubber for bones), Tampa’s offense can leverage San Francisco's tendency to allow higher points per drive in the fourth quarter, as their defense tires down the stretch. First things first though, they'll have to make sure to deal with the Niners' potent pass rush led by Nick Bosa. A quick tempo and short-pass offense could tire out the 49ers’ pass rush, while Offensive Coordinator Liam Coen leans on RBs Rachaad White and Bucky Irving, leaving Tampa Bay in a position to capitalize on their opponent’s late-game defensive lapses. The Bucs offense has been very productive under Liam, even as their roster deals with injuries, including the absence of WR Mike Evans for at least one more game. Baker Mayfield should throw for around 250 yards, and will need a standout performance against a dominant San Francisco pass rush to keep Tampa Bay in this one.
With their backs against the wall, and seemingly fighting for their coach's job, I have a feeling the Bucs defense surprises.

Tampa Bay will finally see the defense rise!
Vita Vea and Calijah Kancey will stuff the middle not allowing Christian McCaffrey to get through the middle. McCaffrey doesn’t have his legs under him yet but will be a dual threat and still put up decent numbers. Baker Mayfield and the offense continue to score. Look for the running game to get clicking early. Bucs hold off Brock Purdy and Company and pull off the upset.

This Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense and their stars must see a flip in their performance if they plan on making the remainder of this season something to remember. Consecutive poor outings have these Bucs sitting under .500 and in search of a win in any way possible.
Baker Mayfield, on the other hand, has found success with his Evans & Godwin-less receiving core. Tight end Cade Otton has emerged as a favorite for Mayfield, along with his backs out of the backfield and former collegiate teammate of Mayfield, Sterling Shepard has also been a name we’ve grown accustomed to.
The 49ers serve issues for opposing teams on both sides of the ball. Complimentary football is a must in this one, along with shutting one down one of the most consistent offenses the league has to offer.

Ok, the defense hasn’t been great this season… BUT, hear me out,
The defense came to play Monday night. Recording 4 sacks vs Patrick Mahomes.. the pass rush finally woke up and showed that there’s still fight on that side of the ball. And they’re going to need all of the fight they have in them. The return of Christian McCaffery (who’s more than likely going to be on a snap count) makes his long awaited season debut, along with Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, the 49ers are going to test those linebackers and secondary. How they respond will paint a picture of what the future holds going into the 2nd half of the season.
We know that Liam Coen has Baker Mayfield and the offense humming, I mean.. Mayfield is 2nd in the league in passing yards and leads the league in passing touchdowns this season. And he’s doing this all without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. One reason for him continuing on this MVP-esque season is “Crash Test” Cade Otton, (thank you Samer Ali and Stank Bastard for that nickname). Otton has been stellar in the past 3 weeks; 258 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns in that span has made him Baker’s new number one option. The backfield still has “Buck-N-Tuck”; Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker alongside Rachaad White has reestablished the Buccaneers run game as a Top-10 unit in the league.
This game has all the potential to be a close shootout or a blowout.. either way, the Buccaneers find a way to steal a “W” at home and go into the Bye Week at 5-5.
