When the going gets tough, the tough gets going... After a bruising Monday night loss and the injuries to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, the Bucs are looking to turn things around by going back to the basics. Expect offensive coordinator Liam Coen to lean on a resurgent run game with Rachaad White, Bucky Irving, and Sean Tucker, aiming to control the clock and keep things gritty.
Meanwhile, Todd Bowles’ defense—especially Vita Vea, Calijah Kancey, and Antoine Winfield Jr.—are ready for redemption and to make a statement after their last rough game (if you can even call 500+ passing yards rough) against Kirk Cousins. Look for WR Sterling Shepard to step up on key downs, Rachaad White to have his best game of the season especially in the passing game, while Baker Mayfield and the Bucs aim to bounce back with some smash-mouth football—hideous creamsicle uniforms and all.

Hardest week for Todd Bowles since he’s been head coach of the Bucs. Losing Mike Evans and Chris Godwin totally changes the offensive game plan. Bucs will play inspired football.
Will try and get the three headed monster running game going.
Just too much new on a short week.
The Falcons offense won’t dominate like they did in the earlier match up but come out on top.

The Bucs have a chance to make a statement that this team is more than Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, and while those injuries are devastating that doesn’t mean that the rest of the team is void of talent. No one is giving the Bucs a chance in this one - and that’s just how they like it,
Rachaad White, Bucky Irving, and Sean Tucker are going to be big parts of the offensive game plan while Todd Bowles has to dial up a heck of a lot more pressure than he did the first time around. Unfortunately for Kirk Cousins, this time he’s having to go against Antoine Winfield Jr., who has a natural ability to make Falcons quarterbacks look foolish.
The Bucs look to get their first win in the creamsicle uniforms since 2009 and in doing so take sole possession of first place in the NFC South. If they win this game, it’ll be massive moving forward. They could theoretically lose the next two weeks and go into the bye week 5-5 - but then Evans comes back and the schedule has one team above .500. Get this win and it’ll go a long way. Lose this game, and the hole might be too big to crawl out of. This team shows up ready to play.

It’s by no means an easy one, but the Buccaneers rise to the occasion against the Falcons. Sterling Shepard, Cade Otton, Jalen McMillan, and a hungry running back room are tasked with filling the void of key playmakers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Liam Coen adjusts the game plan and despite a slow start, the Buccaneers are able to find the score board.
Antoine Winfield Jr. challenges Kirk Cousins, who threw for over 500 yards last time the teams met. The Bucs’ pass rush continues to disrupt opposing quarterbacks, which is clutch against a relatively immobile signal-caller like Cousins.
It’s an ugly one, but the Bucs scrap out a must-win to take possession of the NFC South.

The only word I can summarize this past week for the Bucs is pain. Losing Chris Godwin for the season and Mike Evans for the foreseeable future is a devastating blow that no NFL is able to recover from, but the season isn’t over.
This offense will have to move forward with an updated philosophy without their star receivers. Running backs Rachaad White, Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker will surely see elevated roles in both the rushing attack and passing game. New offensive coordinator Liam Coen has a tall task on his hands moving forward and it will further prove whether his success this season is a fluke, or if this young coordinator truly has what it takes to reach the next level.
For this Buccaneers defense, they’re playing more than just a game today. After multiple 500-yard performances given up so far, Kirk Cousins and this Atlanta offense looks to recreate their week five success. Ultimately, this defense can’t afford to give up many more explosive games to opposing teams if they’d like to keep hope up for the rest of the season. They’ll be playing with a fire on their back, and it’ll be a long day for Kirk Cousins.

Liam Coen’s creativity is going to be put to the test. No Mike Evans or Chris Godwin, it’s time for the younger talent to shine. Trey Palmer, Jalen McMillan, Rakim Jarrett, Ryan Miller and Sterling Shepard find themselves with a major opportunity to make some serious noise. All 3 running backs will be active for this Sunday and that alone is massive for Liam and his play-calling.. The Buccaneers rushing attack has come alive in recent weeks (They’re finally ranked in the Top 10 after 2 seasons of being dead last).
It’s time for the Bucs to create a new identity on offense.
Now… the defense limiting Kirk Cousins and that offense is another story.
Vita Vea, Antoine Winfield Jr., LaVonte David, Zyon McCollum, and Yaya Diaby and the rest of that defense want to redeem themselves after that Week 5 performance where they gave up 509 passing yards and a walk-off touchdown in overtime. They know it’s time to step up in a major way since the offense is limited and if they let up in any way, this season could go south very quickly.
The Bucs have their backs against the wall.
The Falcons are heavily favored in this rematch.
It’s Creamsicle Week in Tampa Bay..
Cue the Upset Alert.
