These Buccaneers Should Instill Confidence In Their Fans

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have done more than enough to make fans believe they can be better.

We are a week away from kicking off this Buccaneers season. There’s a different vibe with this group compared to last year; pure confidence.

Baker Mayfield enters year two as the starting quarterback. There are gambling outlets giving his over/under at ridiculously low passing yards and touchdowns. The national media continues to disrespect Baker as a legitimate starter in this league. He once again will approach this season with a massive chip on his shoulder, looking to build on a career year in 2023, only this time he has better protection and more weapons.

Jason Licht has built his best roster since the Bucs won Super Bowl LV with Tom Brady. Licht added stud center Graham Barton to anchor the offensive line. He also drafted Chris Braswell, Tykee Smith, Jalen McMillan, and Bucky Irving who will have immediate impact roles on this team on both sides of the ball. Between Barton and Irving, the Bucs will look to turn around the league’s worst rushing attack from last year and take some of the pressure off Baker, as well as Rachaad White.

The Bucs are quietly a legitimate contender this season, thanks in large part to the addition of Liam Coen - which, to me, is a major upgrade over Dave Canales. Coen is going to give this running game the most success it's seen in years. Rachaad White and Bucky Irving are going to be running through holes that Tampa fans aren’t familiar with, at least not as of recent years.

I fully expect the Buccaneers to win the NFC South once again. The national media has been in love with this new Falcons team but they simply don’t have the level of talent across the board, top to bottom, that Tampa possesses.

Football is finally back and the Buccaneers are ready to turn heads. Soon everyone will realize this team is the real deal.

Pure Confidence.
